Investing in Our Future: Beginning a Conversation with the Community

We want to hear from you!

Dr. Jorden Schiff, Superintendent of Schools, presented an introduction of ideas surrounding the possibility of a community referendum at the August 27, 2018, Hillsborough Board of Education meeting.
For the past several months, the Hillsborough Board of Education has been discussing the future of our district and how to best invest in our schools, our students, and our community. Public conversations have been held and presentations delivered regarding many ideas, resources, prospects and concerns. The Board of Education will take a two-phase approach in addressing the needs of our schools. A referendum will be held on March 12, 2019, in order to implement two district-wide improvements—a full-day kindergarten program for our youngest learners and a long-term financial stability plan.

A fall 2019 construction referendum would follow in order to address facility improvements and security upgrades at all schools and the building of a new high school.
