Interest in 2023-2024 Children at Play Program

Thank you for your interest in the Children at Play (CAP) program in the Hillsborough Township Public Schools.  The CAP program is a thematic play-based extension program that aims to allow teachers time to focus on teachable moments and augment individual problem-solving situations in a relaxed and child-sensitive manner.  The CAP program provides families with an opportunity for their child to remain in their school for a full day. Important Updates:
~~Due to low interest from families, we will not be able to run the CAP program at Woodfern Elementary School for the 2023-2024 school year.
~~The CAP programs at Amsterdam Elementary School and Woods Road Elementary School are full. If you interested in being placed on a waiting list, please complete your CAP Tuition Agreement Form. Do not send in your deposit at this time.

The program is supervised by the building principal and follows the district's standard operating procedures, including district calendar, arrival and dismissal times and policies.  The tuition for the 2023-2024 school year is $660.00 per month.

PLEASE COMPLETE AND SUBMIT THIS CAP INTEREST FORM IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN RECEIVING MORE INFORMATION ABOUT CAP AND THE TUITION AGREEMENT REQUIRED TO SECURE A SPOT.   Each CAP class has a maximum of 22 students.  Spots will be secured on a first-come, first-served basis.  Do not wait until September to request entrance into the CAP program as enrollment balances are planned in July and August in our elementary schools.  As such, very limited requests to change can be accommodated.

Age Requirements for Kindergarten/1st Grade

  • Children admitted to kindergarten must be five years of age on or before October 1 of the year they enter kindergarten. There are no exceptions to this policy.
  • A child is eligible for entrance into first grade who will have attained the age of six years on or before October 1 of the year in which entrance is sought or has completed the kindergarten program of the district or equivalent program elsewhere and has been recommended by the district principal for advancement to the first grade.
