Repair Replace Revive Information

On behalf of the Hillsborough Township Board of Education and the administrative team, I would like to thank the Hillsborough community for their support of our December 10 Repair, Replace, Revive referendum.  This $34.5 million  referendum will address significant facilities infrastructure issues including HVAC repairs and replacements, roofing, security vestibules and site improvements (asphalt, pavement, sidewalk, etc.).  The State of New Jersey has determined that all of our projects are eligible for State funding in the form of Debt Service Aid resulting in approximately $14 million in aid to offset the cost of the projects.  This state funding was only available with the passing of the referendum.

With the successful passing of the referendum, our immediate next steps will be for our architects to prepare construction bid documents with the awarding of contracts expected in spring of 2020 with projects beginning in the summer of 2020.  It is estimated that the construction phase will occur during the summers of 2020 and 2021.

The next two years will prove to be exciting ones for our school district and I look forward to continuing on our journey together and celebrating each project phase as it is completed.  Sharing timelines and progress as we move forward will be a priority. Additionally, be on the lookout for a shift in the portion of the website dedicated to the Repair, Replace, Revive project.  Please be assured that we will do our best to keep the website updated as each project progresses.

We do not take your willingness to support our students, teachers and schools lightly and I would like to reiterate a big THANK YOU for doing so.

Sincerely,

Dr. Lisa M. Antunes

Superintendent of Schools
