Summer Volunteer Opportunity!

The Hillsborough Department of Special Services is looking for student volunteers for our Extended School Year (ESY) program. Students must be entering 9th Grade by September 2023. The district’s ESY program is for students in our self-contained classes, preschool through high school, who experience significant regression of skills during prolonged breaks from school.
The ESY program runs from July 5th through August 3rd/4th, 2023. Available time slots for volunteers include 9:00-11:00, 9:00-12:30, 12:30-2:30.
Interviews for prospective new volunteers will be held on May 18th beginning at 2:00 p.m. in the Hillsborough High School Child Study Team office. To set up an interview, please call the Department of Special Services at 431-6600, Ext. 2387 by April 24, 2023. Please print the attached volunteer application form and bring it to the interview on May 18, 2023.
Applications for returning volunteers are due to Donna Landon, Supervisor of Special Services, at the Board of Education office by April 24, 2023. No new applications will be accepted after this date.
There will be an orientation at Hillsborough High School for all volunteers on June 21, 2023 from 1:00-2:00pm. All volunteer assignments will be given out at that time.
