As required by New Jersey state law (P.L.2025, c.195) and New Jersey Department of Education (NJDOE) guidelines, the Board of Education passed Policy 5516 to establish bell-to-bell standards for personal internet-enabled devices during the school day. These state-mandated changes are designed to minimize distractions, protect instructional time, and support student academic engagement and emotional well-being.
