Out with the old so we can come in with the new! The first stages of construction for Full-day Kindergarten started on-time, today, the day after school let out. The first day started with a lot of destruction, rather than construction! We will keep the community posted about our efforts throughout the summer.
At last night’s Board of Education meeting, High School staff, administration, and students presented exciting initial plans to transition to a rotating schedule for the 2027-28 school year.
This presentation marks the very first of several community outreach efforts as we explore this update. Our goal in introducing a rotating schedule is to unlock greater academic flexibility and expand opportunities for our students - aligning our school structure with the proven benefits that comparable high schools have successfully offered for several years.

We are incredibly grateful to our local Lowe’s and their amazing team of volunteers! As part of their Hometown Heroes program, Lowe's completely donated brand-new flooring for our iSTEM and woodshop rooms at Hillsborough High School.
Even better? A fantastic crew of Lowe's store employees volunteered their time to help install the flooring alongside our very own teachers, Mr. Rosenthal and Mr. O'Sullivan. Together, they knocked out the entire installation in just 4 hours! 🕒💪
This project was done at absolutely zero cost to our district, helping us revitalize and transform our learning spaces as we prepare for some exciting new courses next school year.

📢 Important Update: 2026-27 School Year Redistricting
As mentioned at the last Board meeting, we want to provide a clear timeline regarding school assignments and redistricting for the upcoming school year.
Please mark your calendars for these upcoming communications:
🗓️ Tuesday, April 7
A district-wide message will be sent from the Superintendent’s office. This email will provide a general update and notify the community that families specifically affected by redistricting will receive direct follow-up information later this week.
🗓️ Friday, April 10
Morning: Families of students moving to a new school will receive a targeted message from their Principal. Our technical teams will also be updating the Transfinder system with the new boundary maps at this time.
Afternoon: The Parent Portal (Genesis) will be updated. Families will be able to log in to view their child’s official school assignment for the 2026-27 school year.
✅ Mandatory Acknowledgement
For families moving to a new school, a mandatory "Acknowledgement" feature will be enabled in Genesis. Upon logging in, parents of affected students must check a box confirming they have viewed the new assignment.
📞 Ensuring 100% Awareness
Our goal is to ensure every family is informed and prepared. Starting April 30, school staff will begin reaching out personally to any families who have not yet acknowledged their notification in the portal. We are committed to confirming 100% awareness before the end of the school year.
